Press Release

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - 07/23/09) - Happy Science in Japan reports that is has established a political party called the Happiness Realization Party (HRP) in May 2009, in order to offer the Japanese people what party leadership calls a third option in the upcoming general election. The party states that they have over 300 candidates for all electoral districts in Japan, a number that surpasses all the established political parties.

Happy Science established this political party in response to the widespread belief that neither of the two major political parties, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) nor the opposing Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), has articulated a concrete plan against the threats of North Korea or a plan to lift the country out of the economic recession. Because the general election in August will determine the course of the country for the next four years, it is an extremely important election for the nation as well as neighboring Asian countries.

Before the establishment of this new party, Happy Science formerly supported the LDP and their policies. However, the HRP has determined that the LDP's plan of action on a majority of issues has not been clear or concrete enough to warrant continued support. Polls show that the LDP is losing its popularity among the Japanese people and that the public is leaning towards voting for the DPJ in the coming general election. However, DPJ's lenient and friendly policy toward North Korea and their position on the U.S.-Japan alliance gives rise to a major concern about how North Korea would react if the DPJ becomes the primary party of Japan. There has been news coverage that leaders of the U.S. government have also expressed their concerns on DPJ's policy on the alliance.

Japan, one of North Korea's closest neighbors, is a country that is widely considered to have the least protective force and would be the easiest to target. The HRP and Happy Science believe this is a problem that needs to be dealt with immediately and both organizations are raising their voice on this matter to inform the public of what they conclude is a very real danger. The HRP states that it has a clear clear plan to stimulate Japan's economy by decreasing and eventually abolishing the sales tax, a completely opposite plan from the existing parties, which insist on the increase of tax to 12% or even 15% from the current 5%.

Happy Science and HRP would like to share their thoughts and policies with the public of various countries in order to work closely with each country to help establish peace and prosperity in the world and make the globe a closer community.
